There's An Unreleased Prince Song In BlacKkKlansman

Spike Lee is gifting us with a never heard before Prince song in his new film BlacKkKlansman.

In a recent sit down with Rolling Stone, the Brooklynite revealed that there is an unreleased Prince track played during the end credits. After inviting Spotify executive and Prince estate advisor Troy Carter to a private screening, Carter had a song in mind.

“[Troy] said, “Spike, I got the song and that was “Mary Don’t You Weep,” which had been recorded on cassette in the mid-Eighties, Lee said.

Lee insists that that song was destined to be in this film and for him to release it to the world.

“Prince wanted me to have that song, I don’t care what nobody says, ” he gushed. “My brother Prince wanted me to have that song. For this film. There’s no other explanation to me. This cassette is in the back of the vaults. In Paisley Park. And all of a sudden, out of nowhere, it’s discovered? Nah-ah. That ain’t an accident.”

BlacKkKlansman is due in theaters August 10th.
