This 10-Year-Old Girl From Ghana Is Not Your Average DJ
We always tell children can be anything when they grow up, but this 10-year-old girl decided to jumpstart her career before she reached adulthood. DJ Switch is a 10-year-old DJ phenom in Ghana who just became the youngest ever winner at Ghana’s annual DJ Awards.
In a feature with BBC News Africa, DJ Switch said she began her DJing career at the age of 9 because she wanted to try something new. She happened to grasp the skill of DJing quickly and became quite the young starlet in her country.
She recently released her first single “Deceiver,” which has over 77,000 views on YouTube.
When she’s not behind the 1’s and 2’s, she’s either at school or playing the trumpet, drums, dancing or learning the piano. Watch her discuss her experience as one the youngest DJs in the world below.
