(Chicago Sun Times) –It’s all about the weather. With summer here in meteorological terms, you might think of the weather for its impact on your vacation, backyard barbecue or golf game. Me, I’m celebrating the arrival of a favorite investment season.
It’s the crop futures market at the Chicago Board of Trade during the Midwestern growing season. Futures are usually a terribly off-putting subject for people, even for those who are seriously into making money. But the grains contracts are about as straightforward as can be. Do you think the price of corn, soybeans of wheat will be higher or lower in a few months? Go long or go short, accordingly.
