WSSC Analyzing Contracts With Minority Businesses
(Gazette) — A study is under way to document whether there is a need for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission to give minority- and woman-owned businesses a portion of contracts to ensure they are not passed over.
Mason Tillman Associates of Oakland, Calif., is running the project through a $418,000 contract, which will evaluate the water and sewer utility’s contracting practices and whether there is a disparity between the number of minority- and women-owned business offering goods and services and the contracts the utility awards those firms.
