Walmart Gives Urban League $85K for youth program
(Midlands Connect) — A retail chain is giving back to some South Carolina students in a big way.Tuesday, Walmart presented Columbia’s Urban League with a hefty check in the amount of $85,000.The money will help support the Urban League’s Youth Empowerment Initiative.Twenty-four 8th graders from several counties around the state will go on a trip to our nation’s capitol. Organizers say the charitable cause is designed to help build healthier communities by empowering the area’s young people.
