We’re all familiar with the phrase seize the moment. It keeps us on our toes, ready to not only recognize opportunity when it’s in front of us but not let it pass us by. That’s what actress Bresha Webb did when she saw Drake deejaying at a Golden Globe after party.
What they don’t tell you about seizing the moment, though, is that sometimes you’ll go for something and you’ll still lose. The key to a happy and successful life though is what you do after the L.
So what happened to Bresha? She spotted Drake at the party. He was putting in work behind the turntables, she was close enough to approach him and then this happened.
Yikes.
While I did see a smile from Drake, I also saw a frown. He, very clearly, hit her with a low-key rejection. And I know that had to bruise the ego just a tiny bit. I know I felt a little second-hand cringe. But, in all fairness, he was really deejaying, not just playing around. And maybe, in his concentrated state, he couldn’t risk turning around and letting the vibe slip.
So there’s that.
But what I love about the whole thing is that while quite a few of us would want to crawl into a hole and never emerge again, (Speaking for myself, here.), Bresha, with the help of her homegirls, took it in stride. Later, they posted this video of themselves discussing the encounter at the gym.
This is what your girlfriends are supposed to do. Cushion the fall and encourage you for the future.
Bresha also revealed that she’s set to appear on TMZ today to discuss the whole thing. So, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
