It’s that time of the night—the time when your date is trying to tempt you to go home with him. And you actually want to. But how many times have you regretted going home with someone? Exactly. Haven’t there been times when you thought, “I wish I knew that before going over there”? Haven’t there been instances when you learned something too late that, had you known earlier, you wouldn’t have even gone to the guy’s place? Yup. It happens to the best of us. And look, if you’re about to go home with and potentially sleep with a guy, the least he can do is answer you some questions. If he really likes you, he’ll be happy to give you all the information you need. Here are questions you should ask before going to a guy’s place.

Do you have a roommate?
You deserve to know if you’re going to walk into a room full of guys playing video games, staring at you because they barely ever see females. And you definitely deserve to know if other men may hear you having sex.

How will I get home?
He should put some thought into that. Will he drive you? Will he pay for your Uber? He should have at least thought about your safe delivery home.

What if I don’t want to have sex?
Just see what he says. Any decent guy would say that’s fine. If he likes you, he’ll say he just wants to spend time with you either way. If he’s a dick, well, he might become agitated and say something like, “Then what’s the point of you coming over?”

Do you have protection?
For goodness sake this guy should have thought about that. If he doesn’t have protection at home, that’s fine, but he should have a plan like, “No but we can stop by the drug store on the way back.” The question shouldn’t leave him speechless.

Do you ask all your dates to go home with you?
You may be putting him on the spot a little, but you’ll learn a lot from his reply. Again, if a guy really likes you, he won’t be angry at you for just wanting information.

Do you have toilet paper?
Um, hello! A lot of men don’t think about the fact that their female guests require a lot more toilet paper than they do. If a guy is going to have females over, he should be prepared.

What size is your bed?
Do you want to go spend the night in a twin bed? Or even a full? You know those aren’t comfortable for two people.

How clean is your place?
He’ll get a kick out of this one, and you’ll learn valuable information. Do you want to walk into a place where there is cat litter in the kitchen sink and hairballs lining the floors?

What does this mean?
I’m telling you if he really likes you he won’t mind the question. Commitment-phobes or those who are just in this for a one-night-stand will get annoyed if you ask this question. Good. Good riddance to them.

Do you have anything I should know about?
Like in the sexually transmitted diseases department. Even if you’re going to use a condom, you deserve to know if this guy has something. Condoms don’t protect against everything.

What if we don’t do that tonight?
What if you just say no? What if you won’t go over? Does he push you? Does he try to talk you into something you don’t want to do? Make you feel guilty? That’s important to know.

Do you have any pets?
Look, if you’re allergic to cats or dogs then you need to know if he has any. It’s that simple.

Am I sleeping over?
Is he going to let you sleep over? Or does he want you to be on your way after you do the deed? If he was going to send you on your way, it’s best to know that now, and just not go home with him.

Have you been tested recently?
You should be with someone who is responsible enough to get tested on a regular basis if he has a lot of sexual partners.

When was the last time you brought someone home?
Oops! This one may catch him off guard! You can tell when a guy is lying, so you’ll know if it’s been a while, whether or not he tells you the truth.
