City Planning Commissioner Launches Plan to Rezone Bronx Neighborhood
(The Real Deal) — City Planning Commissioner Amanda Burden launched a public review process for a plan to rezone Third and Tremont avenues in the Central Bronx. The proposed rezoning between the Cross Bronx Expressway and Fordham Road would bring investment in mixed-income housing and commercial development, while protecting the lower density of the residential neighborhood west of Third Avenue. By revising the zoning that has been in place since 1961, Ms. Burden hopes to create 700 units of new and affordable housing.
