Even the most loyal partner can betray you. Along with the very spoken rule that thou shall not cheat, most couples have a hundred other little unspoken rules that they follow to stay connected. If you’re in a long-term relationship, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Even though you and your partner have never outright stated that you always get delivery from this place on Fridays or that you never want to have that couple over for drinks, you’ve basically said it with facial expressions, hand gestures, and all the other things you said around it. So when your partner takes advantage of the fact that the rule was never set in stone and he breaks it, you feel deeply betrayed.
