Brooke Valentine Says Vow of Celibacy Is "A Spiritual Thing"

If you’ve watched this now completed season of Love and Hip Hop Hollywood, then you probably know that singer Brooke Valentine found herself caught up in quite the love triangle with boyfriend Marcus Black and Daniel “Booby” Gibson (a quadrangle if you include fellow singer Bridget Kelly).

Valentine definitely had strong feelings for both men, but according to the 33-year-old, she wasn’t having sex with either of them — or with anybody for that matter.

During the second part of the LHHH reunion on Monday, the “Girlfight” singer revealed that she’s celibate and has been for years. So even though she was heard telling Marcus, “If I was wearing panties, you would be the last person I would take them off for” during a rough patch, she’s waiting to take them off for anybody.

“I’m about to say something that no one’s probably going to believe, but it doesn’t matter because it’s my truth. I haven’t been taking my panties off for anybody,” she said on stage. Black helped her set the record straight.

“Out the gate she was very clear to me that ‘I don’t plan on having sex until I get married,'” he said. “So I was cool with that.”

And despite using Gibson to get back at her boyfriend during the show for his lying, cheating ways, Valentine said she values her relationship with Black because he’s always supported her decision to wait.

“It’s a spiritual thing,” she added. “One of the things that made me fall in love with Marcus is how he totally understood. We prayed together. I didn’t feel like he was kissing me with a motive or things like that. So although I’ve been called a ho a thousand times or two in one comment span, I’m not that.”

It’s unclear if Valentine has been celibate since giving birth to her son, London, in 2010, but it’s clear she’s stuck by her vow for some time. So now that that’s cleared up, she wants you to put some respect on her name.
