Sony Pares Losses, Forecasts Profit
(NYTimes.com) — Sony narrowed its losses in the last business year and forecast a profit for the current year as the consumer electronics and entertainment company looks to finally turn around its TV and video game operations. Sony said on Thursday that its net loss for the business year ending March 31 came to 40.8 billion yen, or $441.4 million, from a 98.9 billion yen annual loss the previous year, which was the company’s first in 14 years.
